Most outdoor cameras need either a power socket or a strong Wi-Fi signal — this one needs neither. The Tapo C615G connects via 4G LTE using a standard nano SIM card (not included), so you can place it wherever you actually need coverage. Farms, remote gates, campsites, and holiday homes are all viable locations. Setup is straightforward: insert the SIM, mount the camera, and you’re live.

Solar Power That Keeps Up

The included Tapo A201 solar panel outputs up to 2.5W and charges the built-in 6,700mAh lithium-ion battery via a USB-C connection. Just 45 minutes of direct sunlight is enough to power the camera for a full 24 hours. You can mount the solar panel directly onto the camera for a compact, tidy unit, or use the included 4-metre extension cable to position it where it catches the most sun. Even without any sunlight, the battery keeps the camera running for up to 120 days.

2K Resolution, Day and Night

The 1/2.8″ CMOS sensor captures footage at 2304 × 1296 pixels — enough detail to read a number plate or identify a face clearly. At night, two built-in spotlights activate to deliver colour night vision rather than the flat greyscale image you get from infrared-only cameras. Advanced WDR and 3D DNR processing keeps the image clean in tricky lighting conditions like bright sunlight or deep shadows.

360° Pan/Tilt with AI Tracking

The camera covers 340° of mechanical pan range (360° coverage) and 90° of tilt (134° coverage), so there are no meaningful blind spots. You can set it to patrol key points on a schedule, perform automatic 360° sweeps, or let AI tracking take over — the camera will follow a detected person, pet, or vehicle across the frame automatically. Activity zones let you focus alerts on specific areas and cut down on irrelevant notifications.

Smart Alerts That Actually Make Sense

Rather than triggering on every leaf or passing car shadow, the camera uses AI to distinguish between people, pets, and vehicles. You only get notified when something worth knowing about happens. The built-in siren reaches 98.6 dBA at close range, and the dual spotlights can be adjusted in intensity — both are useful deterrents when an alert is triggered.

Flexible Storage Options

Footage can be saved locally to a microSD card of up to 512GB (not included) inserted directly into the camera. For remote access to recorded clips and cloud backup, Tapo Care cloud storage is available via subscription, with a 30-day free trial included. The Tapo app handles playback, sharing, activity zones, and two-way audio from your phone.

Both the camera and solar panel carry an IP65 weatherproof rating, meaning they’re fully protected against dust and water jets. The operating temperature range runs from -20°C to 45°C, covering Irish winters and beyond. The camera can be wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, or pole-mounted, with mounting hardware and template stickers included in the box.
