The Barista Express has a built-in conical burr grinder that grinds coffee on demand, directly into the 54mm portafilter. Because the coffee is ground right before extraction, you get a noticeably fresher flavour compared to using pre-ground coffee. The bean hopper holds up to 450g, so you can keep a good supply on hand.
Grind Size and Dose Control
The grind size dial lets you adjust coarseness to suit different beans and roast levels. You can also adjust the grind amount and use the manual override if you want more hands-on control. The Razor dose trimming tool helps you get a consistent, level dose every time.
Precise Temperature for Better Espresso
Digital temperature control (PID) monitors and adjusts the water temperature throughout the brewing process. This means the water hits the coffee grounds at the right temperature — not too hot, not too cool — which makes a real difference to the taste and balance of your espresso. The machine automatically adjusts water temperatures and supports a voltage range of 220–240V.
Single or Double Shots
The Barista Express supports both single and double shots, with interchangeable single and dual wall filter baskets included. You can switch between automatic or manual operation depending on how much control you want over your brew.
Micro-Foam Milk Texturing
The steam wand is designed to let you hand-texture milk to a smooth, micro-foam consistency. This kind of milk texture enhances the flavour of milk-based drinks and gives you the foundation for latte art if you want to take things further.
