Appliance installation from ElectroCity means our own installers fit your new machine, test it works, and take the old one away for recycling on the same visit.

Our installers cover Kilkenny, Carlow and Waterford, if you’re just outside our installation areas get in touch and we’ll confirm if we can reach you. Normally our installers get to you within five working days of the order, but this can vary so if it’s urgent reach out and we’ll be happy to answer any questions.

Installation is added to your order alongside a new appliance and delivery, so it can’t be bought on its own or for a machine bought somewhere else. A flat delivery fee applies, no matter how many appliances you order, but each appliance must have its own installation fee. If you buy a washing machine and a dryer but only pay for the installation of the dryer, our installer will not install the washing machine.

Every install is like for like: the new appliance goes where the old one was, onto the water, waste and electrical connections already in place. We don’t run new pipework or new circuits.

How Appliance Installation Works

  1. 1

    Add It to Your Order

Pick the installation that matches your appliance on the product page or in your basket. The price and what it covers show before you pay.

  2. 2

    We Schedule Your Installation

Your order is added to the next available slot. Please note that days fill up fast, so your installation might not be on the very next day we’re in your area.

  3. 3

    We Check the Space

The installer looks over the spot and the connections before starting. If anything is unsafe or outside the service, they tell you before any work begins.

  4. 4

    Fitted, Tested, Cleared Away

The new appliance goes in and gets tested. The old one and every bit of packaging leave with us for recycling.

Laundry and Dishwashers

Washing machines, washer dryers and dishwashers all come under the one installation. The installer disconnects the old machine, plumbs the new one into the existing water and waste, and checks for leaks before leaving.

ServicePrice
Washing Machine or Dishwasher Installation€39.99

What’s Included with Washing Machine and Dishwasher Installation

  • Disconnecting your old appliance
  • Unpacking and positioning the new one
  • Connecting to your existing water or waste pipes
  • Taking the old appliance and all packaging away for recycling
Before We Arrive
  • Measure the gap, including height, width and depth, and the route in through doorways and around corners.
  • Check the cold feed, the waste and the plug socket are all within reach of where the machine is going.
  • Empty and drain the old machine so it can be lifted out without soaking the floor.
  • Clear the area so the installer can get in and out with two machines.
Good to Know
  • We connect to the plumbing that’s already there. Moving a feed or waste to a new spot is a plumber’s job and not part of this service.
  • The new machine has to fit the space the old one left, so check the gap against the dimensions before you order.
  • Integrated laundry and dishwashers behind a furniture door and fall under the integrated installation option instead.

Ovens, Cookers and Hobs

Electric ovens, hobs, freestanding cookers and range cookers are all installed by our own qualified installers, connected to the electrical point already in your kitchen. We don’t install gas appliances, and we can’t disconnect an old gas cooker either if there is one to come out. Always use a registered gas installer, for more info see RGI.ie.

ServicePrice
Electric Oven Installation€39.99
Electric Hob Installation€39.99
Electric Cooker Installation€39.99
Range Cooker Installation€49.99
Fused Spur Add-On€19.99

What’s Included with Oven, Cooker and Hob Installation

  • Disconnecting your old oven, hob or cooker
  • Unpacking and fitting the new one
  • Connecting to your existing electrical outlet point
  • Taking the old appliance and all packaging away for recycling

Check for a Fused Spur

A fused spur is the dedicated power point an electric oven, cooker or hob connects to. It looks like a small white switch on the wall near the cooker, usually at worktop height, and it’s sometimes labelled COOKER. If you’re replacing an appliance that’s already there, you almost certainly have one.

If the spot has never had a cooker in it or it’s an older home, there might not be a spur, and without one we can’t complete the installation. Add the Fused Spur Add-On and our installer fits the connection point and wires it safely into your existing circuit on the day. If we arrive and there’s no spur and no add-on, the installation charge is refunded minus a call-out fee.

Not sure what you’re looking for? We have a photo on our fused spur guide or you can take a photo and send it to help@electrocity.ie and we’ll confirm before you order.

Before We Arrive
  • Find the fused spur and check it’s there. If it isn’t, add the Fused Spur Add-On to your order.
  • Measure the space for a built-in oven, or the gap for a freestanding cooker, and check the new appliance matches.
  • Clear the worktop and the space around the cooker so the installer can work safely.
  • If there’s an old gas cooker that is being replaced, arrange a registered gas installer to disconnect it before our installer arrives.
Good to Know
  • We install no gas ovens, hobs, cookers or ranges, and we don’t disconnect gas either.
  • A built-in oven or hob has to fit the cavity or worktop cut-out that’s already there. Our installers don’t cut worktops or alter cupboards.
  • Range cookers are heavier and wider than a standard cooker, so check the route from outside to inside your home as well as the gap.

Fridges and Plug-In Appliances

Fridges, freezers, tumble dryers and anything else that simply needs positioning and plugging in come under Appliance Positioning and Connection. American fridge freezers get their own installation, because they’re heavier, often plumbed for water and ice, and need levelling properly once they’re in place.

ServicePrice
Appliance Positioning and Connection€29.99
American Fridge Freezer Installation€49.99

What’s Included with Fridge and Plug-In Installation

Appliance Positioning and Connection

  • Unpacking your new appliance
  • Positioning it where you want it
  • Plugging it in and testing it
  • Taking all the packaging away for recycling

American Fridge Freezer Installation

  • Disconnecting your old fridge freezer
  • Unpacking and positioning the new one
  • Connecting to your existing water supply where the model needs it
  • Levelling and stabilising it
  • Taking the old appliance and all packaging away for recycling
Before We Arrive
  • Measure the gap and the route in. American fridge freezers are wide, so check the front door and the hall as well as the kitchen.
  • Check there’s a plug socket within reach of where the appliance is going.
  • For a plumbed water and ice model, check there’s a water supply at the spot already.
  • Empty and defrost the old appliance the night before, and give it a wipe out.
Good to Know
  • Positioning and Connection covers packaging removal. Your old large appliance can still be taken away for recycling, free of charge, with the delivery as long as it’s disconnected, cleaned out and ready.
  • Integrated fridges and freezers sit behind a furniture door and fall under integrated installation instead.

Integrated Appliances

An integrated appliance sits inside your kitchen units behind a furniture door, so swapping one takes longer than a freestanding machine. The old unit comes out, the new one goes in and gets secured, and your door panel is refitted and adjusted so it lines up with the rest of the cabinets.

ServicePrice
Integrated Appliance Installation€99.99

What’s Included with Integrated Appliance Installation

  • Removing your old integrated appliance
  • Unpacking and fitting the new one
  • Fixing your furniture door panel to it and adjusting the alignment
  • Connecting to services and testing
  • Taking the old appliance and all packaging away for recycling
Before We Arrive
  • Measure the cavity properly, height, width and depth, and check the new appliance is built for it.
  • Check your existing door panel suits the new appliance, including the hinge positions and type as well as, on fridge freezers, the door split.
  • Empty the cupboards either side so the installer has room to work.
  • Have any cupboard or worktop alterations done before the day. Our installers don’t adjust furniture.
Good to Know
  • This is the price for integrated laundry, dishwashers and refrigeration alike.
  • If the cavity turns out to be the wrong size, or the housing is damaged, the installer won’t fit the appliance into it.

What We Don’t Cover Or Do

Every installation is carried out with a safety-first attitude and the installer has final say before starting a job. If any of the below applies to you or your home please reach out to us before purchasing or make sure everything is ready on the day of installation.

  • Gas appliances of any kind. We don’t install them and we don’t disconnect them. All work must be carried out by a registered gas installer.
  • New plumbing or new electrical circuits. We connect to the water, waste and electrical connections already in place. Please ensure these are available for us on the day.
  • Moving connections to a different spot. We’ll install anywhere you like as long as the connections are already there. We won’t extend plumbing or wiring.
  • Altering cupboards, worktops or tiling. Any cutting or adjusting needs doing before we arrive.
  • Appliances bigger than the space the old one left. Installation is like for like, so the new machine has to fit as it stands.
  • Appliances smaller than the space the old one left. Again, installation is like for like, so if the new machine is smaller than the old one we won’t adjust cabinets, etc. to tighten gaps.
  • We love animals, but they might not love us. Please ensure any pets, large or small, are confined to another area of your home for our safety and theirs.
  • An unsafe environment. Safety of our installers is our top priority, so please ensure the working area is clean and clear for them. They have the right to refuse to carry out any work if they feel it is unsafe to do so.
  • Abusive behaviour. Our installers are there to do their jobs. Misunderstandings can happen and a service or job might not be able to go ahead for any number of reasons – do not verbally abuse, threaten or photograph/video our installers as they work.

The installer assesses the job before starting, and won’t begin work they judge unsafe or outside the service. They have the final say.

If for any reason above, or others outside of our control, an installation cannot be performed we reserve the right to charge a call-out fee. The full detail are in our installation terms and conditions.

FAQs

No. Installation is bought together with a new appliance and a delivery, so we can’t take a booking for a machine you already own or bought elsewhere. If you’re buying a few appliances in one order, you pay a single delivery charge.

No. All our cooker, oven, hob and range installations are for electric appliances only, and we can’t disconnect an old gas appliance either. A registered gas installer has to do that before we arrive.

No. We install like for like, which means the new appliance has to fit the space the old one left, including the cut-out in a worktop for a hob. If it doesn’t fit, the installer can’t complete the job.

Yes, as long as the connections you need are already there. We’ll install in any position with an existing electricity, water or waste connection, but we don’t run new pipes or cabling to a new location.

Every installation starts with an on-site assessment. If the installer judges the job unsafe or outside what the service covers, they won’t start. Where an oven, cooker or hob has no fused spur and no add-on was bought, the installation charge is refunded minus a call-out fee. The installation terms and conditions set out the rest.

Yes. Every installation includes disconnecting the old appliance and taking it, plus all the packaging, away for recycling. Even without installation we collect old large appliances free of charge when we deliver, as long as they’re disconnected, cleaned out and ready for the driver.
